Dr. Dwayne Milioni

Lead Pastor ()

“Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence” 2 Peter 1:3

This verse explains the desire of our Senior Pastor to proclaim the truth of Jesus Christ through biblical preaching and teaching and to lead Open Door to greater Christ-likeness.

Dwayne Milioni has been the Senior Pastor at Open Door since 1999. He and his wife Kay moved to the Raleigh area from Virginia, where they both received Masters Degrees.

Dwayne is a Ph.D. candidate at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest, where he enjoys occasionally teaching classes in the area of counseling and preaching. Dwayne and Kay have four children: Cameron (age 19); Victoria (Age 18); Derek (age 16) and Gabriel (age 15).

Both Dwayne and Kay are excited to see God’s handiwork at Open Door and look forward to meeting new friends and building relationships with those in the community.

 

Scott Lorenz

Pastor of Discipleship ()

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness….” 2Tim 3:16

This verse is the standard and method our pastor desires to see God’s people live and die by. It is also the precious treasure he desires our church plants and missionaries to carry out into the world.

Scott Lorenz has been a Pastor at Open Door since 2006. He and his wife Sue have lived in the area for over twelve years. He serves Open Door as Pastor of Discipleship; regularly assists with the counseling ministry, and is a leader in Mentoring ministry at Open Door. Pastor Scott is presently leading the 8am Adult Bible Fellowship

Additionally, Scott is a Database Administrator for a nationally recognized software co. located in Raleigh, NC. Scott and Sue have three children: Matthew (age 17); Sarah (Age 15); and Kathryn (age 6). Presently, he is pursuing his MDiv degree at Southeastern Seminary in Wake Forest.

Scott, Sue and their children consider this church their extended family and delight to see God’s work in friends, families, and visitors to Open Door.

 

Mark Armstrong

Pastor of Administration and Member Care ()

Mark Armstrong has been the Minister of Administration and Member Care since April 2005. Mark received his BS from Valdosta State University. He and Carrie relocated to Wake Forest, NC in January 2002 to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Mark graduated in May 2005 with a Master of Divinity degree.

Mark and Carrie have two children, Addison, who was born in January 2005, and Barrett, who was born in 2008.

Mark and Carrie are excited about the opportunity to serve Open Door as we strive to make much of Christ together.

 

Carlos Soca

Pastor of Hispanic Ministries ()

Carlos SocaCarlos Soca has been married to Madai for 14 years and is the father of Josh, Hannah and Avery. The Socas have been a part of the Open Door family since 2005. Carlos and his family came to North Carolina from New Jersey to attend Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he received his M.Div. in 2006.
Carlos currently serves as the Pastor of Hispanic Ministries and as an elder. The Soca family now call North Carolina their home and Open Door their home church. Carlos works as an engineer in Raleigh.

 

Bob Jones

Pastor/Elder ()

Dr. Jones oversees our biblical counseling ministry at Open Door. An experienced counselor and pastor, Bob brings years of the knowledge of biblical truth and wisdom to bear upon life's troubling issues.

Jordan Branch

Minister to Children and their Families ()

Jordan Branch and his family have been members at Open Door since 2004. Before he became the Minister to Children at Open Door, Jordan served as interim worship leader at Christ Baptist Church, a church plant of Open Door in Wilson, NC. He and his wife Jessica live in Raleigh with their son Nathan and their daughter Lillian.

Jordan received a BA from Boyce College in 2004 and an MDiv degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2006.

Jordan and Jessica love children and greatly desire to assist families in building a Christ-centered foundation in the lives of children for the joy of the next generation. Jordan considers it a privilege to join with the other members of Open Door in reaching the North Raleigh community for Christ.

 

Wesley Price

Minister of Worship ()

Wesley Price has served in different capacities at Open Door since 2004. Wesley assists in worship ministry and oversees media & technology. He moved to Wake Forest, NC for 2001 and met and married Angey while in seminary. Together they enjoy being part of the community of North Raleigh.

Wesley and Angey are pleased that God has blessed them to be used at Open Door. Wesley’s hope is that the worship of the Triune God that is offered up at Open Door would extend throughout the community of North Raleigh and to the ends of the earth.

 

Kevin Jones

Minister of Community Life ()

Kevin has been a member at Open Door since 2003 and has served in various ministries since that time. He currently serves Open Door as Minister of Community Life.

After being addicted to drugs for nearly 10 years, Kevin bowed his knee to Jesus and enrolled in Bible College and then Seminary at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary where he graduated in 2009. While at Seminary, he met his wife Jessica. They now have three children and live in North Raleigh.

Kevin and Jessica are delighted to be part of what God is doing at Open Door and count it a great blessing to be involved with a local church that expresses and maintains the Christ exalting vision and philosophy of ministry that Open Door does.

Jared Ownby

Director of College Ministry

imgJared Ownby has been married to Beth since 2001. They moved to the North Raleigh area in December of 2007 after four years of Active Duty in the Air Force. They joined Open Door early in 2008. Their daughter, Ella Claire, was born in 2009 and son, Judson, was born in 2010.

Jared received an AAS from the Community College of the Air Force, a BA from the College at Southeastern, and is pursuing an MA at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Jared serves Open Door as Director of College Ministry and works at SEBTS
in the Student Life Office."

Zach Nelson

Director of the North American Church Planting Foundation (NACPF)

 Zach and his wife, Allison, were married in August of 2002, and are blessed to be the parents of Tanner, Brayden, and Alexis.

Zach is a graduate of Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary with an emphasis in Evangelism. He is also currently working on his D.Min from Southeastern.

Zach and Allison’s passion is to see people come to know Christ in a personal way and to gain the joy that comes through living a life totally for Jesus.
