Our Purpose

Construction Kids Weekday Preschool is a ministry of Open Door Baptist Church. Open Door desires to love the North Raleigh community. This weekday preschool is another avenue to express that love. Our goal is to…

Weekday Preschool & Curriculum

Our part-time preschool is able to offer small class sizes and low student to teacher ratios.

Mother's Day Out: Maximum enrollment of 10 students per class.

Weekday Preschool: Maximum enrollment of 12 students per class.

Student to Teacher Ratios:

1s Class - 1:4

2s Class - 1:5

All other classes - 1:6

Our curriculum includes Bible stories and Christian truths as part of our daily themes and class time. Center activities that are developmentally appropriate for their age group encourage the children to grow intellectually, spiritually, socially, emotionally, mentally and physically. A team of North Carolina licenced teachers within Open Door helped to oversee the establishment of the preschool, ensuring that your children receive the most effective and appropriate teaching methods available.

At each age level we have a balance of structure and flexibility. Each day allows for circle time, center time, creative activities, playground, and lunch (not provided). Each class also attends chapel and music. Lesson plans are created by the teachers around daily themes. All classes have one lead teacher and one teacher assistant.

Depending on your child's age, you may choose to enroll your child for 2 days per week up to 4 days per week.

Mother's Day Out

1s & 2s classes meet Tuesdays through Thursdays.  You may choose to enroll your child for one day per week, up to three days per week.

New changes have been implemented for the 2012/2013 preschool year.  Click here to learn more about these positive changes for our program's future.

Parents will have free time to run errands, meet with friends or enjoy some quiet time, while their child enjoys a caring and fun environment.  Each class will consist of Bible stories, crafts and stimulating activities.  This Christ-centered childcare is available for one and two year olds. 

Registration - 2012/2013 - Next School Year

Re-enrollment for current students begins December 13, 2010 and may be completed at any time, but space is only guaranteed up to January 8, 2011, when enrollment opens to ODBC church members.  Enrollments opens to the public on January 23, 2011.

To register, please complete the online registration form, along with proper payment of registration fee*, to register your child for weekday preschool. The non-refundable registration fee secures the child a place and helps purchase supplies. This fee may be prorated if a child registers after the school year begins.

*Those enrolling in this class must be five by August 31, 2012.  However, children turning five by October 31, 2012 will be considered only upon a written recommendation submitted by the child’s previous year preschool teacher.  Children who will turn five by December 31, 2012 will be considered if they also submit a written recommendation from their child’s pediatrician and a completed Parent Observational Checklist, which can be obtained from the preschool or by clicking here (this link will take you to a WCPSS PDF online, which you can print and complete).  To learn more about this program, please click here to view our flyer.
